Description

The Digital Games Research center is a multi-disciplinary center whose focus investigates the scientific, engineering, artistic, social and educational challenges of digital entertainment. Join in this work to examine the future of computer games, including innovative applications of games technologies to bear on problems relevant to social, medical, training and educational contexts.

This summer:

• Create dashboards for data analytics on educational simulations and competitive video games.
• Help researchers develop and prototype novel physical interfaces to interact with educational simulations.

Responsibilities

• Beta test and provide feedback on virtual laboratory simulations.
• Develop visualization and analytics dashboards for gameplay data.
• Other duties as assigned.

Preferred Experience & Participant Qualities

• Is comfortable learning and using programming languages like Python and Javascript
• Can adapt to change and flexible assignments
• Comfortable working in teams and collaborating
• Ability to work independently without constant oversight (shows self-direction, initiative)
• Completed at least one computing course or equivalent camp/outreach program

Skills Required

Self-starter, ability to work in a team, problem-solving skills, excellent verbal communication skills, creativity, attention to detail, patience, time management.
